Officeexec website hacked again
The Officeexec website was attacked and the .htaccess file was rewritten on Saturday January 30, 2010 around 10:00am. As a result no links worked and clicking on any link would load a foreign website, hosted in China.
Unlike regular XSS - cross-site scripting attacks, this attack did not try to inject a foreign script into our scripts - instead it re-wrote the .htaccess file, forcing a foreign web page to be loaded. We have been getting some major cut eye from our competitors in the last few weeks for our low prices, but we doubt that it was an attack aimed directly at us, although our google rankings got directly and immediately affected by this. This hack was specifically aimed an any visitors coming from search engines, which makes it seem purposeless to the hacker, but very meaningful to the competition.
We apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced and recommend that you clear your browser cache and run an anti-spyware program on your computer.
