Without legal precedent

What do we have that made over 10 independent law offices sign up for our "better than virtual office" package in just the last month? One of our lawyers has been with us since we opened our Yorkville location in April - she had told us at that time that it was our deal that allowed her to go solo and start her own firm.

I thought it was time for me to investigate how she has used the service and how it has benefitted her.

When asked about benefits she said with a wide grin "more money in my pocket."

She went on to say that it felt like our 12hr free boardroom or meeting room deal was custom tailored to her needs. Her meetings almost never lasted over an hour and she has had at most 8-10 such meetings a month. Often she is in our boardroom just for a 20 minutes - taking advantage of our half hour booking increments - before she leaves for lunch and then returns for the next meeting if she has one. In the 7 months she has been with us she never had to pay a penny extra for renting space, or having to use a phone while in the boardroom or having to connect to the internet (or having to use the projector or the 50" plasma - but I don't think she ever had to). Fixing her total operating cost at $149/month (our "better than a virtual office" package) allowed her to spend more money elsewhere - like a Prada bag. "But I also invest a lot of money into marketing and client relations" she said smiling, after pointing at the Prada bag. "The money I save every month in rent I reinvest into my business - I am thinking of hiring a legal assistant next year who can work from home, because I have enough business and enough free cash at the end of the month to do so."

"A year ago I was making hourly wages at a law office, but now I run my own office! I enjoy the prestige and the pride that goes with running my own law office. It is more work, but it is more exciting and rewarding, too."

She said again that if she hadn't found us last April, she wouldn't have taken the plunge so confidently. Now that she did, she feels it was the best choice ever and looks forward to a successful new year. There are other advantages I gathered from some of our other clients - our multiple locations. One of our locations is in Etobicoke, allowing a Toronto based lawyer to meet his Mississauga clients half way. Once you are on our network you can use any of our centers equally. With our new North York (Yonge and Sheppard) location opening soon I imagine those options open up even further.

If we keep getting lawyers and law offices at this rate, we should probably get a full time legal assistant to work with our administrative assistant? That wasn't a good idea I was told - lawyer files are confidential and one person seeing multiple law office files is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Well, that idea was just my first idea - and for now we are focused on the new opening of our Yonge and Sheppard location. For now I think that's reason enough to sign with us - 4 locations, 2 downtown, 1 North York, 1 Etobicoke - meet your clients anywhere that is convenient. A real office can't offer that type of flexibility. A virtual office can't offer that kind of service. Hence, our "better than virtual office" package. It's an office that makes sense.
